Remodelação Apart. (colaborador ARQX Arquitectos)
A intervenção é orientada por duas ideias: o trabalho de dois núcleos espaciais unidos por uma pequena passagem (núcleo comum e núcleo privado) e a rentabilização da excelente exposição solar dos espaços. O núcleo privado, articula-se em torno de um hall de escala e ambiente íntimos. Nos espaços comuns a lógica é diversa: fluidez, flexibilidade no(s) seu(s) uso(s) e amplitude espacial.
Apart. Refurbishment (collaborator ARQX Arquitectos)
The intervention is guided by two ideas: the work around two spatial cores, united by a small passage (common core and private core) and the rentabilization of the excelent solar exposition of interior. The private core is articulated around an intimate hall. In the common areas, the logic is different: fluidity, flexibility and spatial amplitude.

A pre-existência e o contexto influenciaram de forma decisiva as opções projectuais. A hierarquização espacial tomou em consideração a função, a flexibilidade de usos (no espaço e no tempo) e a exposição solar.

The pre-existence and context had a decisive influence in the projectual choices. Spatial hierarchization considered function, flexibility of utilizations (in space and in time) and solar exposition.

A divisão funcional do programa aproveita a diferença de cotas existente entre o terreno e o espaço público, adaptando-se ao lugar e cumprindo as exigências funcionais. A forma e a linguagem procuram de forma assertiva uma auto-referenciação que nos pareceu adequada ao contexto.
Locker Rooms (collaborator ARQX Arquitectos)
The functional division on the program profits from the existing difference (in height) between site and public space, adapting, therefore, to place and accomplishing functional demands. Shape and language seek in an assertive way a self-referentiation that seemed adequate, in our perspective, to context.

Centro de dia Luz Soriano (colaborador ARQX Arquitectos)
O novo edifício nasce a partir da remodelação e ampliação de uma habitação contígua ao conjunto da Ordem dos Médicos. A volumetria nova teve que considerar de forma cuidada o conjunto de infraestruturas, percursos, edifícios e equipamentos já existentes, por forma a fazer parte do todo.
Day Care Center Luz Soriano (collaborator ARQX Arquitectos)
The new building is born from the refurbishment and ampliation of a house, that is contiguous to the Ordem dos Médicos settlement. The new volumes had to consider, in a careful way, the whole group of infrastructures, paths, buildings and equipments that were already there, so that it would work as a part of the whole.

Concurso - 1º lugar
O terreno de intervenção encontra-se no limite do perímetro urbano, fazendo a transição entre o Parque Termal, uma zona de reserva natural e o Rio Minho. A proposta implementa-se de forma pacífica no terreno, minimizando movimentos de terras e impermeabilização de solos.
Sports Urban Park (collaborator ARQX Arquitectos)
Competition - 1st Place
The intervention plot is in the limit of the urban perimeters, establishing the transition between the Thermes, a natural reserved area and the River Minho. The proposal is implemented pacifically into the site, reducing earth movements and soil impermeabilization.

A solução apresentada evidencia uma grande preocupação não só com o local (com vestígios da ocupação romana) mas também com o acto da leitura/estudo/introspecção. A iluminação natural é potenciada ao máximo e os espaços de permanência dimensionados para uma escala intimista.
National Library Slovenia (collaborator ARQX Arquitectos + Carlos Lobão) - Competition
The presented solution highlights a big concern not only with place (with remains ot the Roman occupation) but also with the act of reading/studying/introspection. Natural lighting was potentiated and the spaces of permanence were dimensioned with an intimist scale.
